1.Get a Good Sleeping Bag
Investing in a high-quality sleeping bag is one of the best purchases you can make before you go camping since out in the wilderness, it will be your bed.
There are two different types of sleeping bags we recommend. The car camping sleeping bag is wider and gives you more room to move around. The backpacking sleeping bag, on the other hand, is smaller, more portable, and better insulated.
2.Get High-Quality Tent Bedding
Sleeping on the uneven ground is something we don’t think about at home but outdoors, it can be an absolute nightmare. Bring high-quality tent bedding when you’re camping to create a comfortable, even ground to sleep on.
Your campsite can become noisy at night. From the other campers to the natural sounds of the outdoors, you may become disturbed in your campground. Sleep with earplugs to block out the noise during the night.
4.Pick a Good Campsite
Pick a good spot to pitch your tent. It should be flat and free from rocks and sticks that can make the bedding uneven. If you’re with other campers, you should set up your tent with some distance from other potentially noisy campers.
5.Keep Away the Insects
Insects can can become a huge problem if you’re trying to sleep. Whether it’s mosquitoes, ants, or other pests, do your research and find out what you’ll be dealing with in the outdoors.
To be safe, pack a mosquito net and insect repellent to protect yourself.
6.Don’t Eat Heavy Meals Before Bedtime
Eating a big meal before you go to sleep means your digestive system will have to work while you sleep, so you won’t have an as restful sleep. Try to eat your last snack or meal at least 2 hours before you go to bed.
You should also avoid drinking alcoholic beverages right before you sleep. Though it can make you sleepy initially, it can also make you restless during the night.
7.Stick to Your Normal Sleeping Routine
Because camping can be so different from your normal daily routine, your brain and body might not feel sleepy when you should. By following your normal routine, your body will know that it is time for bed.
Irregular hours can disrupt your body clock so by sticking to your bedtime routine, you’ll have an easier time falling asleep.
